Description

The Western Blouse in Porto Red from King Louie is a romantic take on the western shirt, and one of the loveliest pieces we've seen this season. A rich deep Porto Red (think port wine, autumnal jewel tone) in soft woven viscose, with gold embroidered roses and vines on the yoke and cuffs, classic western yoke seaming, gold popper-style buttons down the front, and two chest patch pockets. Everything about it is considered.

The shape is a longer, easy, button-through blouse with a classic collar and long sleeves. It sits at the hip for wearing over jeans, or you can tuck it into wide-leg denim or a high-waisted trouser for a sharper edit. The 100% viscose fabric is soft, drapey and easy against the skin.

The Porto Red does all the styling heavy-lifting for you: rich enough to be a statement, universally flattering, and layers beautifully into the rest of the autumn and winter wardrobe (chocolate, camel, cream, denim, black, deeper burgundy).

King Louie's ethics story is a good one. In 2025, 77% of their collection uses preferred materials, they're a member of the Fair Wear Foundation, and they're actively investing in circular production. Beautiful clothes, made with care.

  • Chest/Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape measure horizontal.
  • Waist: Measure around the narrowest part of your waist, just above your navel.
  • Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and bottom, with your feed together.

Ensure the tape measure is snug, but not tight, and parallel to the floor.

True to size. Stocked in sizes 34 to 42 (UK 6/8 through UK 14/16). Regular fit with an easy shape. The model in the photos is 5'9" / 1.77m and wears a size 36. Between sizes? Size down for a slimmer through-the-body fit, or up for extra ease.
