Description

The Stanwick in Dark Brown is a barrel-leg cord in a shade so rich it almost reads as chocolate. Soft and yielding with a good stretch to it, this is the corduroy you actually want to live in rather than save for best.

The silhouette follows the same logic as the Dana Barrel Jean: relaxed through the hip and thigh, with a gentle taper at the ankle. Hil turns them up once. Sue turns them up twice and pairs them with heeled boots, which gives the whole thing an unexpected edge.

97% cotton, 3% elastane: all the warmth of a cord with proper stretch built in.

Care Instructions

Machine wash cold. Turn inside out to protect the cord. Do not tumble dry. Iron on a low heat on the reverse side if needed.

  • Waist: Measure around the narrowest part of your waist, just above your navel.
  • Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and bottom, with your feed together.

Ensure the tape measure is snug, but not tight, and parallel to the floor.

Hil (UK 10/12) wears a medium, which runs closer to a UK 11 than a 12. Sue (UK 6) takes an extra small, which fits a UK 6-8 comfortably.

Styling Suggestions

Hil (UK 10/12) is in a medium, turned up once. She'd go dramatic and tonal: the Rino & Pelle Geesje Faux Fur Coat in Chocolate Bean over the top with the Emu Australia Cabello Sandal in Chestnut underfoot, or the Saint Tropez Sabriel Jacket in Dark Oak for a lighter option. Both feel very right with this shade. Sue (UK 6) takes an extra small, turned up twice. She tucks in the Black Colour Lace Cami Vest in Champagne, throws something cosy over the top, and finishes with her heeled boots. The turn-up and the heel is a great combination.
