Description

The Sali Blouse is one of those pieces that earns a second look before you've even got to the door. The collar is the story: a wide, ruffled frill collar with rich red floral embroidery sitting across the shoulders — dramatic, but not overdone. Matching red embroidery at the cuffs ties the whole thing together.

The body is 100% cotton in a soft, clean pink. No stretch, good structure. Pink and red shouldn't work together as well as this does. It does. Completely.

Sized S-M and fits comfortably to a UK 12 — Hil is a 10/12 with a 34EE bust and wears it with ease, but this is not one for beyond a 12. The cotton is the kind that gets better with every wash.

Machine wash at 30°C. Wash with similar colours. Do not tumble dry. Press while slightly damp for the crispest finish.

Achieve the perfect fit by following these simple measurement steps:

  • Chest/Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape measure horizontal.
  • Waist: Measure around the narrowest part of your waist, just above your navel.
  • Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and bottom, with your feed together.

Ensure the tape measure is snug, but not tight, and parallel to the floor.

One size S-M, fitting comfortably to a UK 12. There is no stretch in this fabric at all — pure cotton — so please do size carefully. Hil is a size 10/12 with a 34EE bust and wears it comfortably; at a 12 the fit is relaxed and flattering. We would not recommend this beyond a 12. If you're an 8 or 10, it will feel beautifully airy — which is exactly the right way to wear it.
Why We Love It

It's the collar. Wide, ruffled, embroidered in rich red floral motifs against soft pink cotton — it's the sort of collar that makes an outfit without you having to do anything else. The pink-and-red combination is one of those things you think won't work until you see it on, and then you completely understand. There's something joyful and a little irreverent about it, which is very much our kind of thing.

Styling Suggestions

Hil tucks hers into high-waisted wide-leg jeans — the puffed sleeves and the collar do the rest. No extra accessories needed; this blouse is already saying plenty. A bright lip and she's away.

Sue wears hers loose, with one of her light pink Faye vests layered underneath and just visible at the hem — her signature layering move. She pairs it with her asymmetric-waisted denim skirt and stacked boots, and the collar sits beautifully even worn completely unstructured.

As autumn comes in, this works brilliantly under a tailored blazer or a long open cardigan — the embroidery peeks out at the collar and does all the heavy lifting.
