The Primula Blue A-Line Maxi Skirt from One Hundred Stars is a properly beautiful piece — a full-length A-Line skirt in a rich blue base scattered with the exquisite Primula print, a blooming bouquet of primroses, auriculas and polyanthus flowers in a stunning range of bold colours. Inspired by the Dutch Old Masters (yes, really), which is exactly why the detail in this print is spectacular — closer inspection just keeps rewarding you.

One Hundred Stars is an amazing UK-designed family brand — independent and family-run in Sheffield. Beautifully considered prints on genuinely lovely fabrics, made by proper people who care about the details.

The fabrication is where this skirt properly earns its £95: 100% Tencel (Lenzing's brand of lyocell — one of the most sustainable and technically brilliant fibres on the market, made from sustainably-sourced wood pulp via a closed-loop process). Tencel drapes like silk, breathes brilliantly, feels soft against the skin, and holds its shape through wash after wash. It's why this skirt moves so beautifully as you walk.

The construction is properly considered: A-Line silhouette flowing from waist to ankle, partly elasticated waistband at the back for ease and comfort, a flat wide panel at the front that gives a properly flattering clean line across the tummy (a proper OHS design detail — trouser-style tailoring cleverness on a skirt), and — of course — the must-have pockets. Because a skirt without pockets is never quite right.

A note on sizing: genuinely not fit-critical. Both Hil and Sue wear the S-M in One Hundred Stars — the OHS cut is generous enough to work for both. S/M fits UK 8-14. M/L fits UK 14-20.
