The Posy Pants from Danish brand Nümph are not subtle — and that's entirely the point. In Peony, which is the kind of vivid, joyful candy pink that makes the rest of your wardrobe sit up and pay attention, these wide-leg beauties have the silkiest, most fluid drape — all courtesy of that viscose mix. They move. They catch the light. They're the kind of trousers that walk into a room slightly ahead of you and introduce themselves.

The contrast stripe detail running down the outer seam — cream with dark piping — gives them a sporty-luxe edge that keeps them squarely in the "I meant to do that" category. Pair with something fitted on top and let the Peony do all the talking. Elasticated waist, great drape, and at £40 from a Danish brand that knows what it's doing — excellent value.

Wash at 30°, gentle cycle, inside out. Wash with similar colours. Do not bleach. Do not tumble dry. Iron inside out on a low setting; reshape while wet. Nümph advise shrinkage of up to 5% is possible — if you’re having the legs shortened, always wash first before going to the seamstress.

How to Measure Yourself Correctly

Achieve the perfect fit by following these simple measurement steps:

Chest/Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape measure horizontal.
Waist: Measure around the narrowest part of your waist, just above your navel.
Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and bottom, with your feed together.

Ensure the tape measure is snug, but not tight, and parallel to the floor.

Nümph use European sizing: the Posy Pants come in 34, 36, 38, 40, and 42. As a rough guide: 34 = UK 6, 36 = UK 8, 38 = UK 10, 40 = UK 12, 42 = UK 14. The brand advise these run large, so if you’re between sizes, go one down.

Hil is a UK 10/12 and is in a 38. She keeps them at the current length and wears them with a small heel — around 2 to 2½ inches — which brings the hem just right.

One thing genuinely worth knowing: these are cut for an average-to-tall frame, and if you’re on the shorter side, you will almost certainly need to have them shortened. Our Sue is 5’0” and has had hers taken up — she’s on the product page in hers to prove the alteration is absolutely worth it. If you’re planning to shorten, wash them first to allow for possible 5% shrinkage before visiting the seamstress.

Because they’re pink. Properly, joyfully, unapologetically pink. The viscose mix gives them a drape that makes them look considerably more expensive than £40, and the wide leg is more flattering on more figures than you’d expect — the elasticated waist is doing a lot of quiet work there. These are the trousers that turn a plain white tee into An Outfit.

Hil wears her 38 with something fitted tucked in at the top — she’s found that a structured top is the key to making wide-leg work on her frame — plus her signature gold earrings and a small heel of around two to two and a half inches to get the length just right. Sue wears her 34 (shortened by a friendly local seamstress) with her usual cami-plus-knit layering — her signature move, applied to some rather brilliant pink trousers, and she looks brilliant.
