  • Sue (5'0", UK 6) wears the 34. It gives her a neat, tailored silhouette without feeling boxy on her petite frame. She keeps it relaxed by wearing it open or buckling the belt at the back.
  • Hil (5'3", UK 10/12) wears the 36 for a clean, shaped fit. On a bloated day (hello, perimenopause), she comfortably moves to the 38 to avoid any pulling across the bust or midsection. The structured cotton doesn’t stretch, so that extra room makes all the difference while still looking polished.

General Rule: With heavyweight cotton drill, choose the size that fits smoothly when buttoned. It won’t stretch, but it will soften over time while maintaining its premium structure.
