A proper retro moment. The Nero Pointelle Cardigan from b.young — the Danish brand for laid-back, properly-cut basics — is a lightweight half-sleeve knit in a warm marsala-and-cream stripe, with delicate pointelle openwork running through it. That gentle vintage texture is what turns a simple cardigan into something quietly considered.

100% cotton, breathable, with a relaxed fit that wears beautifully over a fitted vest or alone with high-rise jeans. The length sits at about 52 cm — exactly where it should hit for tucking, layering or letting fall.

One thing to note: only the Medium is in stock. If you've been waiting for a transitional knit that isn't itchy, isn't synthetic, and doesn't look like everyone else's, this is your one shot.

Cold gentle wash, reshape and lay flat to dry. The pointelle openwork is delicate, so avoid the tumble dryer and don't wring. Iron on a cool setting if needed (lay a cloth over the pointelle if you want to be extra careful). Treated kindly, it will hold its shape and softness for years.

How to Measure Yourself Correctly

Achieve the perfect fit by following these simple measurement steps:

Chest/Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape measure horizontal.
Waist: Measure around the narrowest part of your waist, just above your navel.
Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and bottom, with your feed together.

Ensure the tape measure is snug, but not tight, and parallel to the floor.

Hil (UK 10/12, 5'3", 34EE): takes the Medium — sits properly across her bust, the half sleeves hit the upper arm flatteringly, and the 52 cm length lands at her hips. The relaxed cut floats over her tummy without bagging at the top, which is exactly what she needs.
Sue (UK 6, 5'0"): also goes for the Medium because it is all that is in stock — it will be properly oversized and loosey-goosey on her, but she'd wear it that way with her cropped Keira jeans from Toxik and her stacked boots. Boho energy, deliberately oversized.
General note: 100% cotton has no stretch but a beautiful drape — it softens with wear and only gets better.

A summer-into-autumn cardigan in a colour that doesn't shout, with hand-finished-looking pointelle detail and proper natural fibre, at £40 from a Danish brand with serious design pedigree. We've yet to put one on anyone who didn't immediately reach for the mirror. It is a quiet steal.

Hil (UK M, 5'3"): wears it over a cream tank with high-rise white wide-leg cropped jeans, tan leather flats and gold hoops. High ponytail in summer, messy high bun for evening. Easy, considered, a bit French.
Sue (UK M, 5'0"): wears it oversized over a fitted vest with her cropped Keira jeans from Toxik and her stacked boots, hair down. The deliberately loose cut suits her boho lean perfectly — exactly the kind of intentional oversizing she does so well.
