Golden Surface is not a name Soaked in Luxury chose carelessly. There's a warmth and a luminosity to this blouse — a quality in the fabric itself — that makes it feel like the kind of thing you notice immediately and then can't quite stop looking at. It photographs well, as all things gold-toned do, but in real life it's better: the surface is doing something interesting that changes depending on how you wear it and what the light is doing.

The Mirmir is short-sleeved and has no interest in being seasonal. It works right now tucked into a midi skirt or wide-leg trousers, and it works in October under a blazer. The cut is a blouse rather than a shirt — softer, more inclined to drape than to hold a crease — and it earns its place in your wardrobe precisely because it goes with far more than you'd initially expect a golden blouse to go with.

One hundred per cent recycled polyester, which at this surface quality and this drape is genuinely impressive. Soaked in Luxury are a Danish brand who think carefully about material choices — the rPET here isn't a compromise, it's what makes the Golden Surface possible. Eighty pounds for this level of thought and finish is very reasonable.

How to Measure Yourself Correctly

Achieve the perfect fit by following these simple measurement steps:

  • Chest/Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape measure horizontal.
  • Waist: Measure around the narrowest part of your waist, just above your navel.
  • Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and bottom, with your feed together.

Ensure the tape measure is snug, but not tight, and parallel to the floor.

Hil is a UK 10/12 and wears the S in the Mirmir — it fits her beautifully tucked into her jeans with her belt. Note that S here is more generous than you’d typically expect.

Sue is a UK 6 and would take the XS. She’d wear it loose over a cami with her skinnies, or tucked in with a belt at the empire line.

Generally: the Mirmir fits on the generous side — if you’re between sizes, go down.

Hil's in the S, tucked into her Toxik jeans with her belt and her gold hoops — the Golden Surface and the gold accessories create a look that is very much doing things. A bright lip finishes it off properly.

Sue's in the XS, worn loose over a cami with her skinnies and chunky trainers for daytime, or tucked in with a belt under the bust for something a little more put-together. The warmth of the Golden Surface plays beautifully with denim.
