This one is properly easy. The Kosmo Sleeveless Embroidered Shirt from b.young — the Danish brand for laid-back, properly-cut basics — is a regular-fit, hip-length, sleeveless shirt in a soft mid-blue denim shade, with a notch neckline finished in delicate blanket-stitch embroidery. The kind of small hand-finished touch that lifts it well above a basic vest.

The fabric is 100% Lyocell, and that's the secret here — it drapes beautifully, it's breathable enough to actually wear in real heat, and (a quiet word to anyone whose internal thermostat has gone slightly haywire — perimenopausal moments, we see you) it cools you down rather than trapping warmth. The kind of shirt you reach for on the days when the temperature won't quite co-operate.

Chest/Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape measure horizontal.

Hil (UK 10/12, 5'3", 34EE): takes the EU 38 (UK 10) — the regular fit floats nicely over her bust and tummy without bagging at the top, and the hip length sits right where it should for tucking or letting fall.
Sue (UK 6, 5'0"): takes the EU 34 (UK 6) — sleeveless, cool and easy on her petite frame.
General note: Lyocell drapes lightly and has no stretch, but the regular fit gives plenty of room and it only gets softer with wear.

A sleeveless shirt that earns its place in proper heat is harder to find than it sounds. This one is properly cool, properly considered (those embroidered stitches at the neckline are the kind of detail you only see when you look closely), and properly versatile — tuck it into a skirt for polished, wear it over jeans for easy. The Lyocell is the magic. At £35, it is honestly a steal.

Hil (EU 38, 5'3"): wears it with the matching Kosmo cropped trousers for a properly elegant tonal Lyocell pairing, or with high-rise white wide-leg cropped jeans, tan leather flats and gold hoops. The notch neckline plays beautifully with her preferred off-neck shapes.
