Description

A proper warm-weather trouser. The Kosmo from b.young — the Danish brand for laid-back, properly-cut separates — is a cropped, pull-on style in a soft light-blue denim shade. Except it isn't denim. It's 100% Lyocell, which moves like silk, feels like nothing on the leg, and drapes the way denim never quite manages.

The elasticated waist with a tie belt gives that defined-waist line without any of the rigidity of a button-and-zip, the side pockets make it a properly liveable shape, and at a 25-inch inside leg the crop lands somewhere between mid-calf and ankle depending on your height. The kind of trouser you put on in the morning and forget you're wearing.

Care Instructions

Machine wash on a cool, gentle cycle. Lyocell holds its shape and colour beautifully but doesn't love high heat — wash cool, line dry rather than tumble, and iron on a low setting if needed. Treated kindly, the colour and drape will stay lovely for years.

  • Chest/Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape measure horizontal.
  • Waist: Measure around the narrowest part of your waist, just above your navel.
  • Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and bottom, with your feed together.

Ensure the tape measure is snug, but not tight, and parallel to the floor.

  • Hil (UK 10/12, 5'3"): takes the EU 38 (UK 10) — the tie waist gives her exactly the defined waistline she always wants, and at 5'3" the 25-inch crop lands flatteringly between mid-calf and ankle.
  • Sue (UK 6, 5'0"): takes the EU 34 (UK 6) — quick flag, only the EU 38 is currently in stock, so the smaller sizes are not currently available.
  • General note: Lyocell drapes beautifully and softens with wear. There is no stretch in the fabric itself, but the elasticated waist takes care of that comfortably.
