Description

A proper bit of summer joy. The Keri Block Print Cotton Dress from Maison de Belle lands in a punchy crimson — the kind of colour that lifts a winter-pale complexion in about three seconds — finished with a sweet ruffle detail and the most useful invention in womenswear: pockets. Praise be.

The block print itself is hand-applied in India using traditional carved wooden blocks — a beautiful, slightly imperfect craft where each garment carries small variations because no two stamps land exactly the same way. The 100% cotton is soft, breathable, and only softens further with wear.

Maison de Belle is a London-designed, Indian-made brand built on ethically sourced fabrics, fair wages for artisans, and proper slow fashion. The kind of brand we love stocking.

Features
  • 100% cotton — breathable, lightweight, kind to skin
  • Traditional Indian hand-block print — each garment carries small, beautiful variations
  • Punchy crimson colourway — universally flattering, properly summery
  • Sweet ruffle detail — character without crossing into fussy
  • Pockets (because every great dress should have them)
  • Designed in London, handcrafted in India — ethically sourced fabric, fair artisan wages, properly slow fashion
Care Instructions

Cool wash, and use a colour catcher sachet for the first wash — the crimson dye will release a little, which is perfectly normal for hand-block-printed cotton. After that initial wash a gentle cool cycle in the machine is fine. Line dry rather than tumble, and iron on cool-to-warm if needed. Treated kindly, the colour will hold beautifully.

Size Guide
  • Hil (UK 10/12 normally, takes the S here, 5'3", 34EE): the S gives her a cleaner, less voluminous shape and sits beautifully across the bust.
  • Sue (UK 6 normally, also takes the S here, 5'0"): the S is honestly a touch generous on Sue's petite frame, but the relaxed cotton cut means it still reads as easy and intentional rather than oversized.
  • General note: 100% cotton has no stretch but a lovely drape, and only softens with wear. If you are between sizes, size down for a cleaner fit, up if you want it more relaxed.
Why We Love It

A proper summer dress at £55 from a London-designed, India-made, hand-block-printed brand is genuinely rare. The crimson is universally flattering, the ruffle gives it character without crossing into fussy, and the pockets make it the kind of dress you reach for without thinking. Add the slow-fashion credentials and it is honestly hard to find fault.

Styling Suggestions
  • Hil (UK S, 5'3"): wears it with tan leather flat sandals, gold hoops, a stack of gold bangles and her hair off her neck. Easy summer dressing for a long lunch, a beach club, or a holiday dinner. Throws a denim jacket over the shoulders for cooler evenings.
  • Sue (UK S, 5'0"): wears it with chunky leather sandals, layered fine gold chains and her hair loose — the slightly generous fit suits her boho-leaning style perfectly. Switches to gold strappy sandals for evening.
