Description

A proper trapeze-cut denim top — neat at the shoulders and bust, flaring softly out through the body in tiered, gathered panels. The denim is the lovely bit: 100% cotton in a washed mid-blue that softens beautifully with wear.

And then the buttons, which absolutely earn their place: a row of embellished crystal-set jewel buttons running down the front placket that turn a sensible cotton denim into something with a bit of romance. Round neck, sleeveless, easy to layer.

Heads up — this is a trapeze, not an oversized piece. Stick to your usual size (or even size down) and let the cut do the work.

Available XS through to L. Important to flag: this is a trapeze cut, not an oversized one. The shape flares out through the body but stays neat at the shoulders and bust — so size up will overwhelm, not flatter.

  • Hil (5'3", size 10/12, apple-shaped, 34EE bust): in the XS. It sits neat across the shoulders and bust (not gaping at all) and the trapeze flares around her tummy, which is exactly the kind of shape that works for an apple frame. Going any bigger would tip into 'absolutely enormous up top' territory — trapeze shapes really need to be neat at the top to flatter.
  • Sue (5'0", size 6): in the XS too — but she'll most likely wear it open, like a little waistcoat, with a fitted vest layered underneath.

100% cotton denim has no stretch but softens beautifully with wear. The trapeze cut is generous through the body but cut close at the top — stick to your usual size unless you want extra body volume.
