The Kasion Wide Pocket Jeans from b.young — the Danish brand for laid-back, properly-cut basics — are a high-waisted, relaxed wide leg in a subtle light-blue striped denim, finished with statement front pockets that give them an edge most pull-on jeans don't manage. Cotton-rich with a hint of give for proper all-day comfort.

A note on length, because the supplier shots are modelled on a tall Scandinavian frame as an "ankle grazer". On shorter heights they work brilliantly as a full-length jean — on Hil (5'3"), they sit flat to the ground with a low-profile trainer or flat (no extra heel needed); on Sue (5'0"), they read as a properly full-length jean. Genuinely versatile.

Care Instructions

Machine wash at 40°C. Turn inside out to protect the stripe and colour. Line dry rather than tumble where possible (kinder to the elastane and the shape), and iron on warm if needed. Standard, sensible denim care.

  • Hil (UK 10/12, 5'3"): takes the 30. The high waist supports her tummy beautifully and the wide leg balances her shape. On length: low-profile shoes (flats, ballerinas, low trainers) keep the hem flat to the ground; chunkier trainers will start to graze the ankle.
  • Sue (UK 6, 5'0"): takes the 27. On her petite frame these read as a properly full-length jean — no grazing.
  • General note: cotton-rich denim with a touch of elastane fits true to size and softens with wear.
