The Ibsen Drama Dress from Y London in Multicolour lives up to every syllable of its name — a properly joyful, drapey, relaxed maxi dress in one of the most gorgeous multicolour prints we've stocked this season. It's called "Drama" for a reason: bold, confident, unapologetic, and utterly wearable.

100% viscose — the drape is properly fluid, moves beautifully as you walk, and never clings. The Y London signature: premium natural-fibre drape at a fair-not-premium price.

The print is the hero — a joyful geometric pattern in coral, orange, mint, cream, black, magenta, cobalt, mustard and every considered brightener. Not a small pretty print — a properly confident one. The kind of print that walks into a room before you do.

The design is easy and forgiving: V-neckline with a self-tie ribbon detail finished with four orange tassels (two at the nape of the neck, two sitting slightly further down the front — a proper Y London considered touch), long balloon sleeves with gathered cuffs, a relaxed straight silhouette through the body, side pockets, and a full-length maxi drop that skims the ankle. Volume in exactly the right places, room to move, room to eat, room to live.

Important sizing note — this dress runs GENEROUS:

  • Size S will fit UK 12, and quite happily UK 14
  • Size M will fit UK 14, and probably UK 16 too

  • Chest/Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape measure horizontal.
  • Waist: Measure around the narrowest part of your waist, just above your navel.
  • Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and bottom, with your feed together.

Ensure the tape measure is snug, but not tight, and parallel to the floor.

  • Hil's way (autumn): with knee-high boots and a denim jacket thrown over, or under a long wool coat for the coldest days.
  • For holiday: with flat leather sandals or espadrilles and a straw tote — the coral and mint in the print sings against Mediterranean whitewash.
  • For evening: with heeled mules and small gold earrings — the print reads elevated at night.
  • For work (bold offices only): with ankle boots and a considered black blazer — for the days you want to make an entrance.
