Emily Lovelock is one of those brands where the price makes complete sense the moment you pick it up. The Hayden Printed Jacket is made in small batches in India — and if you look closely, you'll see exactly why. A rich, intricate paisley in jewel tones (burgundy, teal, ochre, rust and gold) against a deep navy ground, finished with contrast cotton tipping at the Peter Pan collar, cuffs, button placket and hem. That tipping is the detail that makes this jacket what it is.

The body is 100% polyester, chosen specifically because polyester holds the depth and complexity of a print like this far better than natural fibres would — the colour stays true, the pattern stays sharp, and it keeps its shape beautifully. The tipping is 100% cotton in a soft denim blue. Two fabrics, one very considered jacket.

Hand wash or gentle machine wash at 30°C. Do not tumble dry. Lay flat to dry. Cool iron if needed — iron on the reverse to protect the print.

How to Measure Yourself Correctly

Achieve the perfect fit by following these simple measurement steps:

Chest/Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape measure horizontal.
Waist: Measure around the narrowest part of your waist, just above your navel.
Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and bottom, with your feed together.

Ensure the tape measure is snug, but not tight, and parallel to the floor.

Hil is a size 10/12 at 5’3” and wears the S — it sits neatly on the shoulders and the cropped length falls at just the right point on her frame. Sue is a size 6 at 5’0” and is in the XS, which fits perfectly; the shorter length works particularly well on her petite figure.

Emily Lovelock sizing is true to size. If you’re between sizes, we’d suggest going up for ease across the shoulders.

This is the jacket that does all the work for you. Emily Lovelock’s signature is bold print paired with exquisite construction detail — and the Hayden is a perfect example. The denim cotton tipping at the collar, cuffs, placket and hem transforms what could simply be a printed jacket into something that feels genuinely crafted. Small-batch production in India means every detail has been considered, not rushed. The paisley is rich without being heavy — the deep navy ground keeps it wearable — and the jewel-tone palette means it works with far more in your wardrobe than you’d expect. A genuine keeper.

Hil is in the S and wears the Hayden over a tucked-in silk blouse — the Peter Pan collar sits beautifully against the neckline and the contrast tipping frames everything. She reaches for it with wide-leg trousers and a heel for evening, or with dark straight-leg jeans on the shop floor. Sue is in the XS and throws it over layered camis and her cropped Keira jeans — very much her thing — with stacked boots for good measure.

This jacket takes you from September through the depths of winter: lighter layers underneath as autumn begins, then a roll-neck or fine knit as the temperature drops. The jewel-tone palette plays beautifully with navy, black, burgundy, camel and forest green.
