The Florentine Long Dress from b.young — the Danish brand for laid-back, properly-cut basics — is a full-length, multicoloured maxi made for the dress code: garden parties, race meets, summer weddings, holiday dinners. The kind of dress you put on and immediately feel taller, brighter, and slightly more pulled-together than you actually are.

The fabric is 100% polyester, which is exactly the point. It holds the print beautifully without ever fading, refuses to crumple in a suitcase, dries quickly if it meets a sudden British shower, and behaves itself through hours of standing around in heat. The kind of fabric that takes the stress out of an event you've otherwise been worrying about.

Machine wash on a cool, gentle cycle. Polyester is properly low-maintenance — it dries quickly, doesn't crumple, and rarely needs ironing. Line dry rather than tumble where you can (the colours and shape will both thank you). A quick cool iron will smooth out anything stubborn.

How to Measure Yourself Correctly

Achieve the perfect fit by following these simple measurement steps:

Chest/Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape measure horizontal.
Waist: Measure around the narrowest part of your waist, just above your navel.
Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and bottom, with your feed together.

Ensure the tape measure is snug, but not tight, and parallel to the floor.

Sue (UK 6, 5'0"): takes the EU 34 (UK 6). At 5'0" the full-length cut will skim or pool at the floor depending on her shoe choice — a low heel keeps it just clear.
General note: polyester has no stretch but a beautiful drape and holds its shape beautifully wear after wear. Sizes are true.
