A proper bit of statement. The Elysa Jacket from b.young — the Danish brand for laid-back, properly-cut basics — is a cropped jacket in a warm birch metal gold — beautifully soft, slightly antique, properly grown-up rather than glittery. Three antique-effect decorative buttons at the front, a round neckline, half-puff 3/4 sleeves with gently gathered shoulders, and a boxy short-length silhouette with a softly textured surface that catches the light without ever shouting.

Treat this one gently — the metallic finish deserves a careful approach. Hand wash, or machine wash on a cold or lukewarm cycle (20°C if your machine offers it), with no spin and absolutely no tumble dry. Lay flat or hang to dry. Cold iron, maximum 110°C if needed. Do not bleach. Treated kindly, the antique gold finish will hold beautifully wear after wear.

Chest/Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape measure horizontal.
Waist: Measure around the narrowest part of your waist, just above your navel.
Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and bottom, with your feed together.

Ensure the tape measure is snug, but not tight, and parallel to the floor.

Hil (UK 10/12, 5'3", 34EE): takes the EU 36 (sizing down from her usual EU 38 because this is a box-fit cut). The cropped length sits cleanly at the natural waist on her, balancing the wider hip below.
Sue (UK 6, 5'0"): takes the EU 34. The cropped cut and boxy silhouette suit her petite frame beautifully.
General note: if you are between sizes, size down. Box-fit jackets read cleaner when fitted closer to the body.

Grown-up metallic dressing is properly hard to get right — too glittery and it goes Christmas-party, too matte and it loses the point. The Elysa hits the sweet spot: a soft antique-gold finish that catches the light without ever shouting, with proper considered tailoring around it.
