In Butter — a warm, soft pale yellow that sits beautifully against skin in every season — it's scattered all over with the most extraordinary folk-art embroidery: elaborate baroque hearts in deep magenta and pink with intricate layered detailing, alternating with small floral clusters in terracotta and dusty blue. The motifs are not uniform or mechanical — they have that slightly irregular quality of genuinely handcrafted work.

The details are just as considered as the embroidery itself. A decorative wavy ric-rac trim runs the length of the button placket — in warm terracotta, picking up the tones in the embroidery exactly — with pearlescent dome buttons. A gathered ruffle at the shoulder seam. Full, voluminous bishop sleeves in the same butter cotton, gathering to neat elasticated cuffs at the wrist.
