Description
The DallasMW 139 High Straight Y from My Essential Wardrobe in Light Grey Wash is properly premium denim — a considered high-waisted straight-leg jean with an intended turn-up hem, cut in a beautifully wearable light grey wash that plays with almost every colour in your capsule.
A note on our MEW denim: we stock very few pairs of MEW's denim on site. It's an intentional curation — MEW jeans sit at the premium end of the market and we bring in only the pieces we know will absolutely earn their place. This DallasMW is one of them.
Fabric-wise: 92% cotton, 7% polyester, 1% elastane. Cotton leads properly — this is a pure-cotton-feel denim, not one of the stretchy-jegging sort. Wears and moves like proper considered denim, with just the tiny elastane hit for daily comfort. It'll wear in beautifully.
The design:
- High-rise waist — sits neatly at the natural waist
- Straight leg — the timeless considered silhouette
- Intended turn-up hem — the cuffed-hem detail is the design point
- Light Grey Wash — grown-up, elevated, quietly considered
Sizing — a couple of things worth flagging:
- We're stocking the 28" leg only. MEW also produce a 31" leg for taller frames, but our customers tend to be in the 28" range so that's what we've curated
- Waist sizes on site: 29, 30, 31, 32, 34, 35
- MEW jeans can run slightly small — if you're between sizes, consider sizing up
- Hil takes the 29, and would size up to the 30 depending on how she's feeling on the day. Bloat is a real thing and we're all up and down — no shame in a spare waist size to hand
- Too big for Sue — we tried to bring in a 26" waist but couldn't, so this is very much a Hil piece. Sue stays with her cropped Toxik Keiras
How Hil wears hers: the classic MEW-on-MEW considered casual-chic move — DallasMW jeans with our My Essential Wardrobe Jola Short-Sleeved Knit Pullover in Bison & Black Stripe for the elevated-casual weekend. The bold Jola stripe against the light grey denim is a properly considered pairing.
