Lolly's Laundry works from a simple idea: clothes should feel like your own, not like something borrowed for the day. The Clare Knit Cardigan is a good example of it, a proper knit with real weight to it, built for actual wear rather than one outing and a wash. It's knitted in 50% wool, 50% nylon, so you get the warmth and feel of wool with just enough structure in the mix to stop it losing its shape by October.

In Creme, it's the neutral that still manages to feel like a statement, soft enough to go with almost anything, warm enough that you'll forget it's “just” a neutral.

How to Measure Yourself Correctly

Achieve the perfect fit by following these simple measurement steps:

Chest/Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape measure horizontal.
Waist: Measure around the narrowest part of your waist, just above your navel.
Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and bottom, with your feed together.

Ensure the tape measure is snug, but not tight, and parallel to the floor.

On Lolly's Laundry's own scale, this one runs true to size, so there's no need to size up or down from what you'd normally take in a jumper.

For Sue (5'0", UK 6 to 8): squarely her size range. She's in the S, with enough ease through the body to layer a cami or two underneath, exactly how she wears everything.

For Hil (5'3", UK 10/12): we've brought the Creme in at the brand's smaller end (S and M only), so on her it sits as a neater, cropped layer rather than her usual relaxed fit. That's no bad thing on a cardigan: worn open over a dress or a fuller top, it does the job of a cosy extra layer rather than trying to close over everything.

Hil, right now: buttons the middle three only, top and bottom left open for a soft V, and wears it loose over the Pella Skirt, Black Leo Print. Leopard is a neutral in her book, so it sits happily under the creme rather than fighting it. Thick opaque tights, gold hoops, hair in her usual messy bun.

Hil, into winter: same cardigan styling, but the leopard print makes way for the Velvet Trousers, Brown as the temperature drops, for a richer, dressier palette.

Sue, right now: her cropped Keira jeans from Toxik, cardigan worn open over one of her layered camisoles, hair down, chunky trainers.
