The Catalina Blouse in Retro Bloom is one of those pieces that instantly lifts your summer wardrobe. The print does all the talking, while the soft stretch in the fabric makes it wonderfully easy to wear. It’s the sort of blouse you can simply throw on and feel fabulous in, whether you’re heading out for lunch, packing for holiday, or just want something light and lovely with your linen trousers. The V-neck is also brilliantly judged – flattering, but not too low – which makes it feel easy and wearable from morning to evening.

This blouse has a comfortable amount of stretch, which makes it a very forgiving and easy fit.

  • Hil is 5'3" and a standard UK 10/12. Hil will wear the Medium for a comfortable, flattering fit that still feels neat through the body.
  • Sue is 5'0" and a standard UK 6. Sue will wear the Small, which should give her that easy, relaxed feel without overwhelming her petite frame.
  • Because of the elastane in the fabric, this one has more give than a crisp woven blouse, so if you are between sizes, most people can stay with their usual size.
  • General Rule: when a fabric has stretch like this, it will skim rather than cling if you choose your usual size. If you prefer a neater fit, you could size down; if you like a looser, floatier feel, size up.
Why We Love It

We absolutely love this one. It’s fun, flattering and full of personality, but still incredibly easy to wear. The stretch makes it feel comfortable and forgiving, which is always a win, especially in warmer weather when you want pieces to move with you rather than feel restrictive. The neckline is spot on, the print is full of charm, and it’s one of those tops that works just as beautifully dressed up a little as it does thrown on casually.
Styling Suggestions

Hil’s Look – Polished Summer Denim. Hil would wear the Medium with crisp white jeans, a leather belt, statement earrings and a bright lip. She’d probably finish it with a sandal or a smart trainer and a little jacket over her shoulders if the weather turns.

Sue’s Look – Easy 70s-Inspired Cool. Sue would wear the Small with a denim skirt, layered necklaces and either chunky trainers or stacked boots depending on the day. It’s exactly the kind of piece she’d love for that effortless, slightly boho, slightly nostalgic summer styling.

This is such a good throw-on blouse for holidays and hot days at home. It looks especially good with linen trousers, and because the V isn’t too low, it’s easy to wear with a simple cami or just on its own.
