Description

The Birdie is one of those blouses that earns genuine double-takes. The fabric is covered in circular self-fabric discs — cut from the same cloth as the blouse itself and layered across the body in an overlapping pattern that creates both a beautiful 3D texture and, cleverly, complete opacity across the torso and back. No cami required, no bra concerns — the construction takes care of all of that. The sleeves carry the same disc detail with a lighter, more translucent quality, which just adds to the effect. Shirt collar, button-front fastening, cuffed long sleeves. In deep burgundy, it's autumn dressing at its most confident.

Hil's advice: try to avoid washing this one if you can — the disc detailing is delicate and it's worth treating it carefully. If it needs a freshen up, spot clean with a warm damp sponge and the tiniest dab of gentle detergent, then leave to air dry. If you do need a full wash, pop it into one of your delicate laundry bags before putting it in the machine on a cold, gentle cycle.
