If you love the Toxik Rowan, let us introduce you to her edgier sister: the Alder. She’s got the same flattering high rise and signature wide-leg shape, but with a subtle twist—crafted using a pigment-dyeing technique that gives each pair a beautifully rich depth of colour and slightly lived-in edge.

Because of this dye process, no two pairs are exactly the same—and with that comes a little extra care. Pigment-dyed denim can transfer, so we strongly recommend washing inside out with dark colours and using a colour catcher. Avoid pairing with cream tops or light accessories until after several washes, just to be safe.

Fit-wise, the Alder is slightly more snug than the Rowan and comes up a touch longer. Hil (5'3", UK 10/12) still wears her usual size 38 but styles them with a heel—whereas she doesn’t typically need one with the Rowan. Sue (5'0", UK 6) finds the fit flattering but opts for a platform trainer or a little wedge to compensate for the extra length.

How to Measure Yourself Correctly

Achieve the perfect fit by following these simple measurement steps:

Chest/Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape measure horizontal.
Waist: Measure around the narrowest part of your waist, just above your navel.
Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and bottom, with your feed together.

Ensure the tape measure is snug, but not tight, and parallel to the floor.

Wears her Alder jeans with a block heel or platform sole to balance the extra length. She usually opts for a fitted knit or crisp shirt, a bold lip, and her signature messy pony or up-do to elevate the look.

Sue (5'0", UK 6):
Keeps it relaxed with a boxy tee or cropped jumper and her favourite platform trainers. Add a slouchy tote and some layered jewellery and she’s good to go.
