How to Measure Yourself Correctly

Achieve the perfect fit by following these simple measurement steps:

Chest/Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape measure horizontal.
Waist: Measure around the narrowest part of your waist, just above your navel.
Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and bottom, with your feed together.

Ensure the tape measure is snug, but not tight, and parallel to the floor.

This is a tailored, structured cotton shirt with no stretch, so sizing is important – especially across the bust.

Hil (5'3", UK 10/12) wears the 38. She chose this size specifically to avoid any “boob gape” across the chest. On her frame, the 38 gives a clean, tailored silhouette without pulling. If she sized down, it would feel too fitted through the bust.
Sue (5'0", UK 6) wears the 36. On Sue, this gives a neat, slightly relaxed tailored look without feeling boxy. She wouldn’t size down as she prefers a little ease in structured cotton.

General Rule: With non-stretch cotton, always prioritise fit across the shoulders and bust. Organic cotton will soften beautifully with washing and wear, but it won’t stretch – so choose the size that sits smoothly when buttoned.
