Description

The Rosa Blue Kate Dress from One Hundred Stars is a properly special piece — an easy, relaxed 3/4 midi dress in a beautifully considered Japanese-inspired print of oversize florals and abstract clouds on a soft slate blue ground, with cream pattern work and subtle pink accents through the design that give the whole piece proper depth.

One Hundred Stars is an amazing UK-designed family brand — independent and family-run in Sheffield. Beautifully considered prints on genuinely lovely fabrics, made by proper people who care about the details.

The fabrication is where this dress properly earns its £125: 100% Tencel (Lenzing's brand of lyocell — one of the most sustainable and technically brilliant fibres on the market, made from sustainably-sourced wood pulp via a closed-loop process). Tencel drapes like silk, breathes brilliantly, feels soft against the skin, and holds its shape through wash after wash. This is why the Kate Dress moves so beautifully as you walk.

The design is Kate Dress — one of OHS's proper signature shapes. Relaxed silhouette through the body, 3/4 length sleeves, a scooping neckline that opens the collarbones without going too low, pockets (obviously — always noted, always appreciated), and a clever low-slung belt attached at the sides that adds proper detail and textural interest to the piece. The belt sits below the natural waist, giving the dress considered structure without ever cinching.

A note on sizing: genuinely not fit-critical. Both Hil and Sue wear the S-M in One Hundred Stars — the OHS cut is generous enough to work for both. S/M fits UK 8-14. M/L fits UK 14-20.

Coord opportunity: the slate-blue-and-cream palette sits beautifully alongside our other OHS pieces — layer under the Angels Olive Kimono Jacket for a proper considered autumn moment, or with the Angels Olive Scarf tied at the neck.

Why We Love It
  • 100% Tencel fabrication — one of the most sustainable fibres on the market, silky drape, brilliant breathability
  • Japanese-inspired print heritage — oversize florals and abstract clouds in slate blue, cream and subtle pink. Painterly, considered, deeply grown-up.
  • The low-slung attached belt — a proper OHS design detail that gives the dress structure without cinching
  • Pockets — always noted, always appreciated
  • Independent and family-run in Sheffield — UK-designed by proper people who care about the details
  • Not fit-critical — S/M covers UK 8-14, M/L covers UK 14-20
Styling Suggestions
  • Hil's way: with tan flat sandals or nude heeled mules, gold hoops and her messy high bun — the slate blue against warm tan is a proper considered late-summer palette.
  • Hil's way (autumn): with knee-high boots and a fine long-sleeved cami underneath — the 3/4 sleeves make this dress transition beautifully.
  • Sue's way: with chunky stacked ankle boots and hair down — the relaxed Kate Dress silhouette against a chunky boot is a proper considered European look.
  • Layered forward: under our Angels Olive Kimono Jacket — the olive and slate blue is a proper considered painterly palette, and both pieces move beautifully together.
  • With a scarf: tied at the neck with our Angels Olive Scarf — same Kimono-and-scarf print family, entirely different tonal register, works brilliantly.
  • For evening: with heeled sandals and small gold earrings — the Tencel drape catches the light beautifully at night.
  • For work: with ankle boots and a considered blazer — the print does the work.
