Perfect Tank, Bitter Chocolate

The Perfect Tank from Y London in Bitter Chocolate is exactly what its name says — a knitted V-neck layering vest cut in Y London's signature fluid-stretch fabric, and finished in the deep considered chocolate that is genuinely the colour of the season.

Bitter Chocolate is having its moment: the grown-up, warm, quietly luxurious brown that fashion has quietly rediscovered as the alternative to black. It reads elevated against every other colour in your wardrobe — cream, camel, denim, oatmeal, burgundy, and (Hil's favourite pairing) soft pale blue.

The design is deliberately simple: a sleeveless knitted tank with a V-neckline — Hil's favourite neckline for the way it separates the boobs and keeps the top half flattering — cut to sit not too fitted, not too loose — the happy middle-ground drape.
