The fabric story here is the point. 100% cotton denim, no elastane — proper grown-up jeans that drape rather than cling, soften beautifully with wear, and carry the kind of vintage weight you don't get from anything with stretch in it. Care Instructions

Machine wash at 40°C. Turn inside out to protect the colour, line dry rather than tumble where possible (kinder to the shape and indigo), and iron on warm if needed. Pure cotton denim only gets better with wear — these will soften and mould to your shape over the first few wears.

Achieve the perfect fit by following these simple measurement steps:

  • Chest/Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape measure horizontal.
  • Waist: Measure around the narrowest part of your waist, just above your navel.
  • Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and bottom, with your feed together.

Ensure the tape measure is snug, but not tight, and parallel to the floor.

  • Hil (UK 10/12, 5'3"): most likely takes the 38 — though on a good day she'll squeeze her bottom into a 36 quite happily. (100% cotton denim doesn't stretch with you, so if you're between sizes it pays to be honest with yourself.) The high waist supports the tummy, the wide leg balances the shape, and the tie belt fine-tunes the fit.
  • Sue (UK 6, 5'0"): takes the 34. On her petite frame the ankle length reads closer to full-length.
  • General note: 100% cotton denim has no give. Size for the seated waist measurement, not the standing one, and trust that the cotton will soften and drape with wear.
Why We Love It

Proper 100% cotton denim is genuinely harder to find than it should be — most everyday jeans now have stretch in them, and stretch denim simply doesn't drape the same way. The Kacila is the real thing. Add the tie belt detail and the wide leg, and you've got a jean that gives you fit precision plus laid-back ease, all in one. £60 from b.young is properly fair for this kind of quality.

  • Hil (size 38, 5'3"): wears them with a fitted white tee tucked in, low-profile flats or ballerinas, gold hoops and a stack of gold bangles. Hair in a high ponytail or messy high bun. The tie belt does the work — no leather belt needed.
  • Sue (size 34, 5'0"): wears them with a fitted vest, chunky trainers, layered fine gold chains and her hair down. The relaxed wide leg suits her boho lean perfectly.
