The Jannike Dress from b.young — the Danish brand for laid-back, properly-cut basics — is a maxi-length, flowing button-down dress in a birch paisley: warm cream-and-white tones with a soft swirling paisley print that nods at the traditional pattern without being heavy-handed. A V-neckline (flattering and lengthening), short wide sleeves, a gently flared hem to the ankle, and a regular cut that floats around the body rather than fighting it.

Machine wash on a cool, gentle cycle. Polyester is properly low-maintenance — it dries quickly, doesn't crumple in a suitcase, and rarely needs ironing. Hang to dry rather than tumble where you can (the colours and the shape will both last longer). A quick cool iron will smooth out anything stubborn.

Chest/Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape measure horizontal.
Waist: Measure around the narrowest part of your waist, just above your navel.
Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and bottom, with your feed together.

Ensure the tape measure is snug, but not tight, and parallel to the floor.

Hil (UK 10/12, 5'3", 34EE): the EU 38 if it's a bloated kind of day, the 36 if not (proper honesty for proper apple-shaped women everywhere). The V-neck sits beautifully on her bust and the regular cut floats over the tummy without bagging.
Sue (UK 6, 5'0"): takes the EU 34. At 5'0" the ankle length will sit closer to floor-grazing, which reads as properly elegant.
General note: polyester has no stretch but a beautiful drape — it skims rather than clings and holds the print sharp wear after wear. Sizes are true.

Sue (EU 34, 5'0"): wears it as a floor-skimming maxi with flat sandals, layered fine gold chains and her hair down. Switches to chunky leather sandals or low boots and a denim jacket for cooler evenings. The print suits her boho lean perfectly.
