White denim is one of those things you either fear or fall for — and these are the ones to fall for. Properly bright, clean, incredibly white — the kind that makes a tan glow and a printed blouse sing.

The cut is a true crop: on Hil (5'3") they finish just under the knee. On Sue (5'0") they sit far closer to the ankle, which is exactly why she loves them — cropped lengths tend to suit a shorter frame in a way that fuller-length cuts never quite do. There's a very slight nod to a barrel shape through the leg, but nothing exaggerated; really high-waisted; and incredibly stretchy through the denim. To be very clear though — that stretch doesn't mean they're loose or floppy. The high waist does a proper job of holding you in and smoothing through the tummy. They're not a strict sucky-tummy jean, but they absolutely give you shape.

Wear them now, wear them all summer, wear them on holiday and pretend you live there.

Fit: really high-waisted with a very slight nod to a barrel shape through the leg — nothing exaggerated, just a soft curve.
Length: a true crop — finishes just under the knee on a 5'3" frame, closer to the ankle on a 5'0" frame. Properly cropped, not 7/8.
Stretch and shape: incredibly stretchy and properly comfortable — but make no mistake, these still hold and shape. The high waist smooths the tummy and gives a real silhouette. Not a strict sucky-tummy jean, but absolutely not loose or floppy either.
Detail: classic five-pocket, button and zip fly.
Fabric: predominantly cotton denim with a touch of elastane for the stretch and the comfort.
Colour: properly bright, clean, incredibly white — the kind that makes a tan glow.

How to Measure Yourself Correctly

Achieve the perfect fit by following these simple measurement steps:

Chest/Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape measure horizontal.
Waist: Measure around the narrowest part of your waist, just above your navel.
Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and bottom, with your feed together.

Ensure the tape measure is snug, but not tight, and parallel to the floor.

Sizing: Toxik runs in European numbers — 34 (UK 6), 36 (UK 8), 38 (UK 10), 40 (UK 12), 42 (UK 14).
A note on white denim: these are not see-through at all, but white denim does ask for a little extra care over the fit. A pair that's too tight will show more than you want — better to size up slightly and let them sit comfortably.
Hil (5'3", UK 10/12): in the 38. She tried the 36 but on white denim everything became a little more visible — the 38 sits properly and the high waist does its smoothing job beautifully. They finish just under her knee, which is exactly the right crop length on her.
Sue (5'0", UK 6): actually does wear these, and loves them — in the 34. The 34 is still loose on her petite frame (it'll sit on her hip rather than her true waist) but that drops the leg length down closer to her ankle, which is exactly the length that suits her best. Cropped cuts naturally flatter a shorter frame in a way that fuller lengths never quite do.
Stretch and shape: there's plenty of give in the fabric and the high waist holds you in and smooths through the tummy. Properly comfortable, properly shaping — with white, a slightly looser fit is your friend.

We've been waiting for a white jean that gets the proportions right, and here they are. The crop is properly cropped — just under the knee, the kind that lets a sandal, a kitten mule or a chunky trainer take centre stage. And the white is properly white, which matters: dingy whites are not worth the wardrobe space.

Hil (size 38): with a fitted vest in palest pink or a tucked-in cotton shirt, a tan belt at the natural waist, big gold hoops, and a kitten mule on the foot. The kitten heel keeps the proportion right with the just-under-knee crop.
Sue (size 34): with a layered vest under a printed blouse, her usual chunky trainers, layered gold necklaces and her gold hoops. The trainer plus the longer-on-her-ankle crop is a properly easy summer combination.
