Description

The Dara Dress is exactly the kind of thing we keep being drawn to — a print-led little number that looks like a holiday before you've even packed. The blush base is washed with hand-drawn paisleys in pink and rich raspberry, and the whole thing has that lovely lifted feeling where you put it on and your mood shifts a notch.

It's a softly skimming silhouette with a flattering V neckline, fluttery short sleeves that finish just above the elbow, and a gentle gather through the waist that nips you in without clinging. Pockets — yes, proper ones — and a swingy A-line skirt that lands above the knee.

Coming from Fransa, the Danish brand we keep returning to for exactly this kind of easy, wearable everyday piece, the Dara feels far more thoughtful than its price tag would suggest. (We won't dwell on that — but you'll notice.)

  • Hil (5'3", UK 12): The gathered waist sits at her true waist, exactly where she likes it, and the V neckline is just the right depth — off the throat without plunging. She'd take a 12.
  • Sue (5'0", UK 6): An XS will be perfect. The above-the-knee length will read more like knee-length on her, which is exactly where she wants it.
  • Fit note: Fransa generally runs true to size. The drape and the gathered waist are forgiving through the bust and hip — go with your usual size.
Why We Love It

Honestly, this is the dress we'll be living in this summer. It does that thing where you don't have to think about what to put with it — sandals on, out the door. We've yet to meet anyone who doesn't look lovely in a soft V neckline and a swingy skirt.
Styling Suggestions
  • Hil (UK 12): With tan flat sandals and her usual stack of gold bangles. A denim jacket slung over the shoulders for the evening breeze, and the V neck means her favourite long pendant sits exactly where she wants it — not lost behind a high collar.
  • Sue (UK 6): With chunky white trainers and a denim jacket — boho without veering twee. She'd layer a fitted vest underneath if the bodice felt too floaty, and finish with stacked silver rings and a small crossbody.
