Betty Basics is an Australian cult brand that almost nobody in the UK can get their hands on. We think that's a shame, and we intend to do something about it — starting with this.

The Cloud LS Tee in Burgundy pulls off a very clever trick: the blush pink contrast trim at the crew neck, cuffs and hem gives you what looks like a beautifully chosen layered cami underneath — that bit of warm blush peeking at the neckline and wrists — without the bulk, the faff, or the extra laundry. It's one piece doing the work of two, and doing it very well indeed.

Made in a soft 95% viscose and elastane blend, it moves with you rather than fighting you — smooth, comfortable, and easy to wear all day. Style it tucked in, half-tucked, or worn loose. It genuinely doesn't matter. It just works.

Achieve the perfect fit by following these simple measurement steps:

  • Chest/Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape measure horizontal.
  • Waist: Measure around the narrowest part of your waist, just above your navel.
  • Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and bottom, with your feed together.

Ensure the tape measure is snug, but not tight, and parallel to the floor.

Hil (5'3, UK 10/12) is wearing a 12 — she wanted a little ease through the body rather than wearing it close-fitted, and a 12 gives her exactly that. If you like things neater and more body-skimming, go true to size; if you prefer a bit of breathing room, size up one.

Sue (5'0, UK 6) would take an 8 — the smallest size available — and on her petite frame the contrast trim hits at just the right spot for layering her own real vests underneath.
Why We Love It

Two reasons, honestly. First: the contrast trim trick. It looks effortlessly styled without requiring any effort at all — no rooting around for the right cami, no accidentally wearing it inside out (we’ve all done it). Styling Suggestions

Hil tucks hers into high-waisted tailored trousers — chocolate brown is spectacular with the burgundy — and adds a longline blazer as autumn arrives. The blush at the neckline means she can keep the jewellery minimal: a fine gold chain and her usual statement earrings, and the look is completely done. High ponytail, bold lip, point-toe boots. Easy.

Sue wears hers with her Keira jeans from Toxik, an open floaty shirt thrown over the top, and the contrast trim doing its layered-look thing at the cuffs and hem — very much her signature. Into winter she’ll add a longline knit or a gilet and let the pink peek through. Her hair loose, her chunky trainers, the whole thing looking like she fell out of a Pinterest board without trying.
