Description

The Bibi in its rose-pink incarnation — a block-printed cotton shirt with all the quiet detail and nothing fussy. Frilled stand collar (decorative, not dramatic), button-through front, blouson sleeves that taper into elasticated cuffs, and a print that only reveals its prettiness up close — dusty rose with whispers of soft pink and apricot, arranged in tessellating diamond motifs. The colour is the seller: rose with warm desert undertones is one of those gentle palettes that works against denim, linen and cream alike.

Hand-blocked cotton from Maison de Belle, who design in London and produce in India with small artisan workshops and fair pay. Wear it open over a vest, buttoned with jeans, knotted at the hem with linen trousers — all valid.

Achieve the perfect fit by following these simple measurement steps:

  • Chest/Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape measure horizontal.
  • Waist: Measure around the narrowest part of your waist, just above your navel.
  • Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and bottom, with your feed together.

Ensure the tape measure is snug, but not tight, and parallel to the floor.

  • Hil (5'3", UK 10/12, 34EE): A relaxed shirt shape — Hil would take the M for room across the bust. If buttoning across the chest pulls, she'd wear it open as a layer over a vest.
  • Sue (5'0", UK 6): The XS works for Sue. She can knot the hem to shorten the proportion on her petite frame.
  • Fabric note: Cotton has no stretch but softens beautifully with washing. The blouson sleeves give movement without bulk.
