Description

Emu Australia's own line on these is genuinely charming: "We heard your ears were jealous of your feet, so we created the equally comfy Angahook Earmuffs." Same sheepskin logic as the boots — applied to the bit of you that actually gets cold first.

The build:

  • Fully lined with premium Australian sheepskin — proper heritage warmth, Woolmark-accredited
  • Slim-line flexible headband — approx. 30cm, sits neatly without pressing
  • Ear cushions approx. 10cm diameter — proper coverage rather than tokenistic
  • One size fits most
  • Comes in a gift box — considered as a present without any extra effort

Chestnut is the warm brown of the season on site — plays into the whole Emu Australia natural family alongside our Sharky Scuff Boots in Chestnut and the Sharky Adventure Scuff in Chocolate Teddy, plus the wider bitter-chocolate winter capsule (Sabriel Puffer in Dark Oak, Nobody's Child V-Neck Collared Jumper in Brown Striped, Y London Perfect Tank in Bitter Chocolate).

The Nesh factor: both Hil and Sue describe themselves as Nesh — the northern-UK word for feeling the cold more than most, particularly around ears, fingers and neck. If you know Nesh, you know Nesh. This is exactly the piece Nesh people need in a north-west UK autumn.

How Hil wears hers: Hil is a runner, and there are days out on the paths when the wind cuts straight through — the Angahook keeps her ears warm and running-ready without the sweat-issue of a full hat. Off-run: her Chester Christmas Market kit — mulled wine, twinkling lights, ears properly warm.

How Sue wears hers: exactly what she needs for walking Reggie along the Wirral Way on the colder mornings — considered warmth, doesn't crush her curls (crucially), and pairs with her stacked olive boots and cropped Toxik Keira jeans without a second thought.

The perfect gift: gift-boxed already, universal fit, Woolmark-accredited sheepskin — this is a proper considered present. Hil's daughters Elly and Katy are already trying to nab a pair as we speak, which tells you everything you need to know.

Emu Australia grew out of Jacksons Tannery, which began in 1948, with a founding idea that's held ever since: nature is the best inventor and they're just following her lead. Everything they make is built around sustainable, natural materials — sheepskin, suede, wool — engineered for quality that lasts rather than throwaway warmth.
