The Albie High-Waisted Shorts from Nobody's Child are a lovely blend of relaxed summer denim and slightly tailored detailing. Crafted from 100% cotton, they feature soft pleats at the front, a high-rise waist, and a relaxed leg that makes them both flattering and comfortable.

The structured waistband with belt loops and a mock horn button fastening gives them a polished feel, while the relaxed fit through the leg keeps them easy and wearable on warmer days. With practical side pockets and a flattering high waist, they’re a great alternative to classic denim cut-offs.

How to Measure Yourself Correctly

Achieve the perfect fit by following these simple measurement steps:

Chest/Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape measure horizontal.
Waist: Measure around the narrowest part of your waist, just above your navel.
Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and bottom, with your feed together.

Ensure the tape measure is snug, but not tight, and parallel to the floor.

These shorts have a fixed waistband, so there isn’t the flexibility you get with elasticated styles.

Hil (5'3", UK 10/12) is firmly in the size 12 here and they fit well. However, because the waistband is structured, she could also size up to the 14 if she wanted a little more room through the waist and tummy area.
Sue (5'0", UK 6) would wear the size 8 comfortably.

Fit Notes: If you tend to carry weight around your tummy or midsection, you might prefer to size up for extra comfort because the waistband is fixed. If you don’t carry weight there, your usual size should work perfectly.

General Rule: Cotton denim doesn’t have stretch, so choosing the right waist fit is key for comfort.

We love how these shorts feel a little more polished than classic denim shorts thanks to the pleats and high-waisted shape. They’re easy to dress up or down and feel flattering without being tight.

Hil’s Look – Polished Summer Casual: Hil (5'3", UK 10/12) wears the size 12 and would style these with a tucked-in blouse or lightweight knit, adding a leather belt, statement earrings and sandals for an easy but put-together summer look.

Sue’s Look – Relaxed Denim Style: Sue (5'0", UK 6) would wear the size 8 with a simple vest or cami, layered jewellery and chunky trainers or stacked boots for that relaxed, slightly boho feel she loves.

These shorts work beautifully styled with tucked-in tops or shorter knits to show off the flattering high waist and pleat detail.
